Well hello there! I am so glad you have stumbled across my page! My name is Jenelle, and I am a Graphic and Web Designer currently located in Oxford County. For as long as I can remember, I have had a huge love for art and design, and from a very young age I knew that one day I would find myself in a career in the arts field. I spent most of my childhood doing crafts and creating as many different things as I possibly could to enter in our town’s annual fall fair. When I was in elementary school, I probably spent way more time than what was necessary to finish my art projects, but hey – everyone has their passions and mine just so happens to be art and design!
It wasn’t until I was in High School, that I bought and used my very own Mac computer and became more interested in design when I started to learn more about the Adobe Creative Suite. By the end of grade 10 I had decided that after High School I would follow my passion and continue on with Graphic Design at a Post Secondary level. Throughout High School I took many classes in the arts and before I knew it I was in Grade 12 applying to Colleges. At Graduation I took home the Media Arts Award, Visual Arts Award, Communications Award and the Faculty Award. Being granted these awards made me that much more excited and motivated to see where I could go next.
In 2010 I started my Post Secondary education at Mohawk College in Brantford/Hamilton, Ontario. Throughout this three year program, I had a one year co-op placement that I completed at the University of Waterloo as a Digital Media Assistant. This was one of the greatest experiences of my life, as I got to really see what it was like in the real world and learn many skills that have helped me throughout my career. After Graduating from Graphic Design Digital Media in 2013, I went back to the University of Waterloo and worked as a full time Digital Media Assistant for the summer. At the end of the summer I decided that I wanted to take my Graphic Design Skills to another level, and in September I headed back to Mohawk College to begin my journey in Small Business and Entrepreneurship. During that one year course, I worked as a Graphic Designer at Mohawk College in the Cummings Library. By the time Graduation had rolled around in June of 2014, I had learned more than I could have ever imagined in the Small Business course. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start their own business!
Following Graduation, I filled many contract positions in Graphic Design and continued to build and work on my side gig after hours.
Just when I thought I was done with school, I decided I wanted to go back and enhance my web design skills in order to be able to confidently offer web design services through Graphically Yours. I made the decision to complete the Web Design Program through McMaster University. You know what they say: “Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching!”
Currently, I am working as a full time designer in London, Ontario as I continue to build Graphically Yours. I enjoy every day as a designer, as the possibilities are endless! I feel so fortunate to have my dream full time job during the day while still being able to work on Graphically Yours in the evenings.
When I’m not designing, you can find me at the gym! I have a large passion for health, wellness and fitness. I am a lover of all things home decor, and enjoy baking and spending time with my husband and family.
A few fun facts about me:
1. I am obsessed with HGTV (I blame my Dad for this one!)
2. My absolute favourite meal is pasta. Being part Italian, that is one food I will never be able to give up!
3. Riding in a hot air balloon is on my bucket list!
4. I would choose pie over cake any day (especially my Grandma’s raspberry pie…yum!).
5. If I wasn’t a graphic designer, I’d probably be a Dietitian or Dentist
Anyway, that’s enough about me! Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my career. I am so thankful for the opportunities I have been granted. Take a look around. I hope you enjoy! Don’t be afraid to get in touch!
